“France, campus of the world˝ is the theme of the European Higher Education and Research Fair RUE 2017 event and seems just right for illustrating the use of BEAM mobile telepresence robots in education.
Awabot will be present within the CréaLab set up by the RUE on 16th and 17th March at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. Let the BEAM mobile telepresence robots teleport you to higher education establishments in France and around the world so that you can visit the places where innovations are created and discuss educational practices and technologies. Among them are Michigan State University, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, l’Université Laval in Québec, the Universities of Dijon, Lyon 1 and Saint-Etienne, and the Centrale Lyon and EMLyon Learning Lab.
BeamPro robots will also be on-site and available to participants and remote visitors. The brand new, ultra compact Beam+Max, particularly suited to the problems posed by teaching practices with its eight-hour battery life, will be introduced to the public during the ˝Digital revolution :tools for freeing yourself from the present˝ activity. “BEAM Universities Tour”: appointments not to be missed
- 16th March 2pm : meeting with experts from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, via BEAM ;
- 16th March at 2.45 pm : meeting with John Bell, PhD, Professor, Educational Technology, College of Education, Michigan State University, via BEAM and discussion on hybrid classes with students present and remote students ;
- 16th March 4:30pm: virtual visit and presentation of the Centrale Lyon and EMLyon Learning Lab ;
- 17th March at 10 am : meeting with Alexandre Fournier, delegated vice-president of the uB digital campus, information systems and Learning Centers – University of Burgundy via BEAM, and discussion on the production of MOOC Marey.
- 17th March at 2 pm : virtual visit of the library of the university of Laval
- 17th March at 2:30 pm : meeting with Christophe Batier, Technical Director from Icap – Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1
